checking which regex library to use... php

checking whether to enable LIBXML support... yes

checking libxml2 install dir... no

checking for xml2-config path...

configure: error: xml2-config not found. Please check your libxml2
installation.

Due to previous errors, no 5-php.log file!

on ubuntu

have installed libxml2 and libxml2-dev

Hi Steve,

Check if you have xml2-config and where it's located.
Also you might try manually change php back to 5.2.x
