import updated database

I have a database named "Koha". And, i am restoring this database in another machine ( new ) for test purpose. Now, i want to import only updated information from my previous machine; how can i do that? In one word, i just want to merge the new added information in my test server Koha database.

SQL Syntax Error

I have an SQL script which was exported from a working database project that I did a couple of years ago.
I am trying to recreate the database using that script.

When I am trying to import this script using phpmyadmin on my server, it throws up the following error

['AllowNoPasswordRoot'] is for a previous phpMyAdmin version. Replace it
with ['AllowNoPassword'] (as explained in Documentation.html).

You will normally find them in

/var/lib/mysql

Where is mysql data base stored

Hi guys ,

Does any one knows where the mysql database information is stored ?

I have a drive with previous mysql installation . I will not be able to start that server . I want to get all my databases to the new one .

I am using ubuntu Linux . Anyone knows where the data is ? I am searching and searching . Let me know if any one knows , so i can ctrl +c ctrl +v , to do it .

root and no password problem

Running phpMyAdmin-3.2.3 and mysql-server-5.0.86 using FreeBSD release
8.00.
Have this in my config.inc.php

$i=0;
$i++;
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['auth_type'] = 'config';
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['user'] = 'root';
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['AllowNoPasswordRoot'] = 'true';
?>

This worked just fine in Freebsd release 7.2,
Now when i start phpmyadmin i get error from phpmyadmin saying mysql
"can not connect-invalid setting error".
Looks like auto login to phpmyadmin is working
When i run my http/php5/mysql application I can add and update my mysql
db just fine using the connect statement having only root and no
password. mysql_pconnect("localhost","root") or die("Unable to connect
to MySQL server");
So there is nothing wrong with the mysql settings.

What default is phpmyadmin passing to mysql that mysql is complaining about?

Since you are using SMALLDATETIME, I am going to presume you are wanting it for MS SQL Server. In the future, it would be nice if you told us this.

The problem presented here is the SMALLDATETIME. This type has no seconds. Just hours and minutes. However, nearly all of SQL Server's date functions use DATETIME which is to the millisecond. Therefore you need to CAST() it down. By default, the SMALLDATETIME would be cast up to DATETIME, which might yield bad results since the inputted data would always be 00 seconds and 000 milliseconds meaning that "now" might be up to 59 seconds 999 milliseconds in the past.

Check Constraint

I´m working with phpMyAdmin v2.11.9.5

I made this constraint: ALTER TABLE helpdeskitems ADD CONSTRAINT helpdeskitemschk CHECK (NOT (itemassignedto = 0 AND itemstatus <> 0));

The problem is that when I execute it, the program doesn´t show any error, but nothing changes in the database and it hasn´t cause any effect.

Do you know why this query hasn´t cause any effect? and could you tell me where the constraints are saved in the database?

Another problem is that I don´t know if I had to put "NEW." before the fields, like I show in this query: ALTER TABLE helpdeskitems ADD CONSTRAINT helpdeskitemschk CHECK (NOT (NEW.itemassignedto = 0 AND NEW.itemstatus <> 0));

Configure phpmyadmin to use comma as default in CSV

This is probably a dumb question; however, is there any configuration
setting that I can enter that will cause phpmyadmin to use a comma ","
rather than a semi-colon ";" by default for importing/exporting CSV
files? It seems I am always forgetting to change the setting and then
the import fails. I realize that a semi-colon is the norm in European
countries; however, I live in the US. Virtually all of the programs
that I use to create CSV files use a comma "," by default. Most do not
even have a way to modify that behavior.

My phpmyadmin is freezing

hey guys ,
I have 9 database , with 10 tables in each of them having atleast 5,000 rows in each table.

I am using xampp , now i am unable to open phpmyadmin userinterface as well as xampp index page.
it just loads and nothing shows up.

I did changed memort limit , to 64 mb in my php.ini file.
what other varibales i need to change?
Any suggestions? i am able to access database from command prompt.

Now in my error logs , i was getting a warning ,
PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '\\php\\ext\\php_xmlwriter.dll' - The specified module could not be found.\r\n in Unknown on line 0

So i have downloaded the file , and copied it in ext folder , still

Can someone suggest me anything.
I have been breaking my head over this for past 3 days.

hard-coding theme in config?

Is there a way to hard-code the theme in the config?

I have phpMyAdmin for our development and live sites. I try to use two
different themes to make sure I know exactly which one I'm using (
default for the live site, darkblue_orange for development ), but
sometimes, the development site goes back to the default theme. I can't
tell why for certain, but I think it's after I've visited the live site
with the default theme.

I found this wikie entry: http://wiki.phpmyadmin.net/pma/themes , where
the user recommends adding a line

$_COOKIE['pma_theme-' . $i] = 'big_green';

in the config file, but that doesn't work for me ( I've cleared cookies).

Event Scheduler in phpMyAdmin

Hi all,

I am a new user for phpMyAdmin.

Before that, I created my database in my own pc using SQLyog. I also created an event scheduler so that it can delete records which are older than 60 days automatically.

Now, i backup the whole database as sql dump and import into phpMyAdmin. However, I cant find where is that event scheduler was located.

I tried to run a query: SET GLOBAL event_scheduler = ON;
but the system returns me: #1193 - Unknown system variable 'event_scheduler'

I checked in the Server variables and settings for my database in phpMyAdmin, there are no "event scheduler" in the list.

May I know how can I solve this problem?

I suspect that there are not key violation warnings that you are missing when you are running the restore. After you re-create the SugarCRM instance, it will pre-populate the data for you. Your goal is to replace that data. The SQL backup file is probably full of insert statements. So, just remember, insert != replace.

Here is something you might want to try. After the clean SugarCRM, truncate all of the newly created tables then run the restore job. After all, everything you should need should be inside that backup script.

restore of sugarcrm tables

Hi all,

I'm a newbie, so bear with me if I'm asking stupid questions. I hope not.

I use phpMyAdmin to dump/backup a SugarCRM installation on a SQL file, and it works.
The problem arise at the moment of restore.

This is the procedure I follow to update SugarCRM, a web-based CRM application:

1) I perform a PMA dump/backup of SugarCRM database on a .sql file,
2) I delete the old SugarCRM web directory structure,
3) I drop the database in mysql,
4) I install the new SugarCRM that also creates the new database + the <admin> user,
5) I restore from the previously produced .sql file

All tables get their expected content except SugarCRM's <users> table that keeps the <admin> user created at install time.

Editing the .sql file I can see that all users records from the old database are in there, so I assume the backup was performed correctly.

Can you please suggest what changes should I implement in my above procedure to get also the <users> table properly restored, and/or alternatively provide me with the steps needed to extract the relevant lines from the .sql file and import them in the database.
