pirumHey,
this is relatively new, but never the less awesome: http://www.pirum-project.org/ http://github.com/fabpot/Pirum This project was created by Fabien Potencier, who's also behind Symfony. It provides a CLI-based interface to manage a pear channel! Side effects of the channel are a small website with package info and an atom feed to track new releases. Of course it got a couple limitations but I've been playing with it for a couple hours and I really like it! :-) And anyone who dove into PEAR_* internals before will find this code refreshingly simple.
