Dear Sir,
I am at present working as a research scholar in DTDD division, Central Drug Research Institute, India. I shall be soon submitting my thesis and looking for a post doc.
I have been working on a novel drug resistance gene (PG1) from L. donovani. I have done cloning, expression and purification of PG1 using E. coli system and characterized it at the molecular level.
To determine the cellular localization of the protein, antibodies raised were used for confocal microscopy. Have also cloned and expressed another protein, mini ORF of Leishmania donovani that has a probable role in RNA editing. I have a working experience with microarray since we studied differential gene expression between antimonial resistant and susceptible clinical isolates to identify genes implicated in antimony resistance. Further work is in progress to validate them and to exploit them as useful targets for therapeutic intervention.
During the course of my work I have gained expertise in several aspects of molecular biology, recombinant DNA technology, protein purification, microarray, confocal microscopy and FACS analysis.
It would be kind of you to please let me know if there any open post doc positions. I am herewith attaching my CV along with a list of referees for your kind consideration.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Best regards,
Hema Kothari
