spelling aside, I thought this is something someone might find intresting.  I will be releasing alot of scripts without saying anything though.  This is inspired by the probability drummer in jeskola buzz only because you can alter the time you should be able to come up with a larger variety of patterns.  There really isn't that much to the python script and it should work well on all platforms..  an example bash script that I could include with it would be nice.  I would like to hear about any idea's or problems.

I think you may have to sort the lines though on the output file.

Don't know if you're interested but it would be simple to get this
script to run Csound too through the use of the API rather than just
create a score. Might make the project more streamlined. Just a
thought,

Rory.

If I can understand it...  you bet, or better yet as an option I am still afraid of the api changing.
I think I should add var number of loops and make sure my output is sorted as my next changes.

I don't think the basic API function will change too much. Michael
Goggins tutorial on Csound illustrates some basic python code to run
Csound within a python script. Feel free to ask on the list too if you
have a problem.

I might leave that up to the text editor.  I think I am going to try it in medit and embed it in ride tab editor.  As long as python is available or a tools menu is available I can just wait for a csound editor someone else has written for that function.

I was planning on writing the tools and then saying how cool it would be if you could run scripts from an editor...  I do have a rich2edit in wxpython though that almost highlights csound code.  It would probably be the only example on the web if I ever finish it..  I have a number of things that I haven't finished.

I may have a bunch of tools for it then...

every thing is sorted now, I think I am done but I will be writing some music with it to make sure.

I have a 1.02 version of the piano roll language available.  It now that works much better with support for decimals, also one test song that is from a piano instrument (from the csound disk)..  I am thinking about optional freq drift and variable hit likelyhood percentages as an option maybe in the next release..

I have a 1.04 version available.  I fixed a floating point bug and I added frequency drift and macros.  some of the features are untested.  The license is free to use but not for resale.
