problem of unreadable characters

Hi ,I use double systems ,windows xp 64 bit and linux,I installed firebird 2.13 on linux and create a database and insert some Chinese content ,but they are unreadable characters on windows xp.I need to use the same database to take some notes using a software written myself. I tried to create filed using 'character set gb_2312/utf-8' but it don't work.How to solve the rough problem? Thanks in advance.

This is probably not a Firebird problem, but more an OS issue as in missing font support. Make sure you have installed Asian language support on Windows XP (Control panel, Regional and Language Options, tab Languages, tick 'Install files for East Asian languages').
