profiles.tikiwiki.org :: should be upgraded to Tiki4: are we ready?Hi!
4 of the main 6 sites have been upgraded to branches/4.0 This has uncovered issues, and is an essential part of our Dogfood strategy. However, as we upgraded to Tiki4, it could disrupt the work of the testers. So very quick reaction is needed. Is the profiles team ready for the upgrade? Re: profiles.tikiwiki.org :: should be upgraded to Tiki4: are we ready?I motion that we refrain from upgrading profiles to tiki4 on this
release cycle. We are experiencing a bit of a false start with the testing team right now, and I don't want to discourage them before they even get started. Once we have done this successfully once, we can dogfood tiki5 on profiles the next time around. Alain -----Original Message----- From: marc@... Re: profiles.tikiwiki.org :: should be upgraded to Tiki4: are we ready? We are releasing Tiki 4.0 on Friday.
How will we test that Tiki 4.0 is a suitable profiles server unless we upgrade? If we do not upgrade, we will not catch any bugs If we upgrade and hit bugs, it slows down the team. I am ok either way with your decision. On Mon, Nov 9, 2009 at 7:56 AM, Desilets, Alain <Alain.Desilets@...> wrote: > I motion that we refrain from upgrading profiles to tiki4 on this > release cycle. Re: profiles.tikiwiki.org :: should be upgraded to Tiki4: are we ready?OK then. Let's upgrade.
Alain PS: I thought we were releasing Tiki 4 at the end of the month. I doubt that the testing team will have time to get in high gear before next Friday. For one thing we only have test plans for 3 of the profiles. I guess it doesn't matter really. We can keep testing in the weeks that immediately follow the release, so that we can have an even more stable release early after the official release. Alain -----Original Message----- From: marc@...
