public instance starts AdminCentral by default

Hi,

We have a strange problem here. When the instance is configured as author one (server/admin=true), accessing the site works as planned, it redirects from http://oursite.com/ to http://oursite.com/site, as configured in /modules/adminInterface/virtualURIMapping/default . On the other hand, switching instance type to public (server/admin=false) results in adminInterface start, http://oursite.com/ redirects tohttp://oursite.com/.magnolia/pages/adminCentral.html. How do I debug this behaviour?

Thanks.

Hi Egor,

You must also change your Virtual URI Mapping. Go to configuration and locate /modules/adminInterface/virtualUriMapping.

Good luck!

Jackson,

I have mentioned it in my original mail: "redirects from http://oursite.com/ to http://oursite.com/site, as configured in /modules/adminInterface/virtualURIMapping/default ", and it works like a charm for author instance. But for public instance, something OVERRIDES this setting and it goes to admin central. :(

Egor.

Hi,

it's not enough to change only the admin property
when you would like to switch Author into
Public instance..You have to also unsecure
your content. All needed informations are
available at

http://documentation.magnolia-cms.com/cookbook/changing-an-author-instance-into-a-public-instance.html

Re: public instance starts AdminCentral by default

Hi,

I have the same behaviour, getting the login page instead of my content on the public instance,
where I

  - redirected the /modules/adminInterface/virtualURIMapping/default to my home-page ("/home.html"),
  - set /server/admin to false and
  - unprotect url / but kept .magnolia/ protected

like it is descibed in the
http://documentation.magnolia-cms.com/cookbook/changing-an-author-instance-into-a-public-instance.html

On the result site of the Config Info Tool I wonder about the entry:

  defaultPublicURI      redirect:/.magnolia/pages/quickstart.html

What is missing?
