pwgl-users: PWGL-problemsHello,
I'm a composer and I've used Open Music for some time. Now I would like to try PWGL, but unfortunately I can't even start the program correctly. I downloaded the zip archive (I run Windows XP SP2)and tried to install it (before installation I'd installed Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86)). PWGL seems to start normally, but when I try to set up Audio/MIDI preferences the following error appears: 'External format :ASCII got error reading #<Pointer to type (:UNSIGNED:CHAR) = #x0950c708> at position 11: Non-ACII code 159.' Also, the Workspace looks very strange, because when I try to load any object I can't see the object itself but only the contour of it (and it doesn't work). And, when I try to load any of patches it's out of use. The same problem is with ENP Score editor. I've tried some example score but I can't see the notes. Is there anything I can do to fix the problems? Thank you in advance, Best wishes Piotr ---------------------------------------------------- Fotografujesz skalary czy mieczyki? http://klik.wp.pl/?adr=http%3A%2F%2Fpikeo.pl%2Finstances%2Fwp%2Fstrona_01.jsp&sid=557 |

Re: pwgl-users: PWGL-problemsHello Piotr,
First of all, sometimes updating OpenGL drivers in XP seems to help. Could you give me a short description of your machine in terms of graphics hardware/opengl drivers? let's see if we can fix this for you. -Mika On 27.11.2008, at 10:23, Piotr Komorowski wrote: > Hello, > I'm a composer and I've used Open Music for some time. Now I would like > to try PWGL, but unfortunately I can't even start the program > correctly. > I downloaded the zip archive (I run Windows XP SP2)and tried to > install > it (before installation I'd installed Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 > Redistributable Package (x86)). > PWGL seems to start normally, but when I try to set up Audio/MIDI > preferences the following error appears: > > 'External format :ASCII got error reading #<Pointer to type > (:UNSIGNED:CHAR) = #x0950c708> at position 11: Non-ACII code 159.' > > Also, the Workspace looks very strange, because when I try to load any > object I can't see the object itself but only the contour of it (and > it > doesn't work). Re: pwgl-users: PWGL-problemsHello Mika,
Here you are description of my PC: Intel celeron 2,4 GHz, RAM: 512 Renderer: Intel(R)845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller, driver version 6.13.10.3510 Adapter RAM: 64 MB Open GL v.1.3 , I've updated driver to version 6.14.10.4342 and it helps. Namely, the objects are visible (although there is no name of the objects) and the ENP score editor seems to work well. But still I've got the error when I try to setup AUDIO/MIDI Preferences: 'External format :ASCII got error reading #<Pointer to type (:UNSIGNED:CHAR) = #x095FFF50> at position 11: Non-ASCII code 159.' I hope this problem can also be solved. Thank you for your help, Best wishes, Piotr ---------------------------------------------------- Zębowa wróżka odwiedziła Twą pociechę?
