pwgl-users: midi and tempoHi,
Does the tempo is written in the midi-file when exporting from score-editor? I tried to open a midi-file with Digital Performer or Sibelius and I do not see the tempo, the transcript is not good... Best, Vincent |

Re: pwgl-users: import music xmlDear Hans,
this is on our TODO list for PWGL. There will be a new release in February -- but I think it will take longer to develop this functionality. So I hope to include it in the release after the next one. It is not completely clear yet whether this will be a closed-source addition to the PWGL kernel or a general open-source library for working with MusicXML in Lisp (that would also support then the ENP format). If anyone who is reading this has an idea about how to find a sponsorship for such a development, I would like to hear about it. Maybe an institution would be able to do so -- as I said, in this case the library could be general, open-source and basically independent of PWGL. Any comments about this topic are highly appreciated. I know fomus - but maybe someone knows about other related work on this? Re: pwgl-users: midi and tempoHi Vincent,
thanks for the comment. We will be working on midi export soon. As a workaround / test, have you tried exporting the score, when you change the tempo to 60 before? Re: pwgl-users: import music xmlI have had some difficulties to write tuplets with Fomus (although I was
working with Common Music and exporting to Lilypond)... at the time I wrote my own text wrappers to write tuplets in lilypond scores... Maybe Psenicka (Fomus' author) could help you if you post the question in the Fomus-devel list... (it seems to be something in the Fomus code and maybe some SVN version works better) http://common-lisp.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/fomus-devel zé bbarros escreveu: > Hi there! > > I was trying to export music materials to Finale. Re: pwgl-users: import music xmlHi there!
I was trying to export music materials to Finale. I remember I did it some time ago, with rhythmic materials (not simple ones). But somehow I can't do it anymore. The way I do now is trying to export as.../FOMUS-MusicXML, and then use the feature MusicXML/Import... in Finale. For very simple rhytms it works (no tuplets), but I'm getting now the error "Rhythm too difficult to notate" with, for example, the rhythm attached . Am I doing something wrong here? I'm using a MacOS 10.5.4, Finale 2007 and PWGL1.0b. BTW, any news about the import MusicXML feature in PWGL ? Cheers, Bernardo 2008/1/25 Kilian Sprotte <kilian.sprotte@...> Dear Hans, |

I know this is on the list for long time, sorry - I dont think this should be a quick hack, because we want something that works, right? I would currently be free to work on it full-time, but only with financial support - so if anyone wants to sponsor this feature..... (or has an another idea of how this could be arranged) ;-) Otherwise, I am sure this will show up at some point in the usual new features set. Kilian |
