question about vx8550 and bitpim
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
hey..I got a vx8550 from verizon online store and before activating it was able to access the phones file system on bitpim and actually was able to copy some text msgs that I wanted to save onto the new phone I had copied these to my computer from my old nokia...I then activated the phone b/c I thought I had transferred everything but then realized the txts are in the filesystem but do not show up in the inbox on the new 8550..I think this is because I did not add a .dat extension to the texts before copying them to the new phone. texts on the new 8550 are created with the .dat extension. (I realized that after I copied them and activated the phone and sent a test text msg to it) but since I activated it I cannot delete, copy or edit any msgs in the sms filder on the filesystem tree. was this because I activated the phone>..does it have something to do with a firmware update that occured maybe b/c I pressed *228?? please help!
thanks
