quickbooks update errorsWe are running into issues where Quickbooks will not update gives us an the error message that something is wrong with the digital signature.
We are running the Web Proxy in transparent mode. If we disable the web proxy then the QuickBooks updates download with no problems. We also whitelisted the following sites for QuickBooks: quickbooks.com intuit.com If anyone has a fix for this please post. Thanks in advance! |

Re: quickbooks update errorsI made the changes but I am still getting the Error 15215 (cannot verify digital signatures). As soon as I disable the transpartent http proxy the updates start downloading right away.
(I also added the domains in the trusted sites for IE too).

Re: quickbooks update errorsThis is still a problem whether i use endian or ipcop.

Re: quickbooks update errorsPoke holes in your firewall that will allow the machine (or machines)
running Quickbooks to directly access the internet on port 80 (I believe this is the port Quick books is using). I am not running the transparent proxy at work, but when I configured QuickBooks to use the http proxy, I could never get it to work correctly. Hope this helps, Howard wharfratjoe wrote: > This is still a problem whether i use endian or ipcop. > > I have whitelisted the domains as instructed and still nothing: > > .quickbooks.com > .intuit.com > > Anyone have any ideas? > > > wharfratjoe wrote: >> D anyone have a resolution to this other than having to turning off the >> web proxy to retreive the quickbooks updates? >> >> >> >> wharfratjoe wrote: >>> I made the changes but I am still getting the Error 15215 (cannot verify >>> digital signatures). Re: quickbooks update errorsThe only way I got it to work for now is list a machine in the "Unrestricted IP addresses" list.

Re: quickbooks update errorsI found the workaround for this. I had to disable the HTTP: Antivirus and Quickbooks is now able to updating. I also tried to white list the domains within the HTTP: Antivirus following the KB article (http://kb.endian.com/entry/42/ ) and still no go.
Funny thing is that my wife was complaining the abc.com and nbc.com online tv shows was not working and sure enough once the HTTP: Antivirus was disabled these started to work as well. Should this also be added to a bug report?

Re: quickbooks update errorsI keep it disabled too. In fact, I keep all of the antivirus features disabled,
because of various problems that arise. -----Original Message----- From: efw-user-bounces@... Re: quickbooks update errorsthe same is true for ftp if one has to download from the green zone. The funny thing is, it is working as long as you connect using the IP instead the domain name.
working: ftp://ftp.xxx.xxx.xxx. not working: ftp://ftp.someaddress.tld FTP antivirus disabled, both ways are working.

Re: quickbooks update errorsIve been playing around with various settings, and found one that works for one customer. They have limited ram in the efw 2.2 firewall, so I keep the content filter disabled, running only the virus scanner with http set to transparent. Quickbooks is set to use IE's settings...
If I place ip address of the quickbooks PC into both Bypass the transparent Proxy from Source, and Bypass the Proxy FILTER by source IP, it works. Of course, this means that particular PC's web traffic isnt scanned for viruses. It would be better if the HTTP virus scanner was set to not scan the intuit websites, but this doesnt seem to work... |

Re: EFW and SambaHi Alberto,
might be a dumb question but its the first one that came to my mind.. :-) You are trying to connect through the green zone right? Per default you probably cant access Red from Blue or Orange. Re: EFW and SambaI believe you can find it under Firewall->System Access. There you can
find a list of system access rules, you might want to try to allow the samba ports of the source interfce you use to connect to the firewall. I havent done it myself, I prefer to have samba running on a separate server in the orange or green zone. Re: EFW and SambaHello,
I configured Samba on my system. You have to add a system access rule permitting TCP 445 on the green interface. Make sure smbd is running, if not, you can start it with this command: /etc/init.d/smb start If you'd like to make it start automatically create a script in /etc/rc.d/start As an FYI, my custom smb.conf appears to have been overwritten at some point. There must be settings in the firewall interface that cause it to overwrite the file when certain settings are changed. Thanks, Chris On Fri, Jun 26, 2009 at 7:57 PM, Vassilis <Bigraccoon@...> wrote: Hi Alberto, ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Efw-user mailing list Efw-user@... https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/efw-user |

Re: quickbooks update errorsYou know it seems to be working, i need to look back at what i did to make it work. sorry for not posting my "own" resolution to this.
compdoc, thanks for the info, but yeah setting a bypass for these users is basically not an option, if you know what I mean ![]()
