Dear Maintainers of ocrad:

I am writing to inquire about the status of ocrad.  I am interested in
joining an open source project and am particularly interested in the
concept of multi-lingual OCR.  In this regard, the ocrad project is
very intriguing to me.

I currently code in Python, and sometimes C or Perl.  I know C++ but
have not used it much for purposes of productivity.  Is the ocrad
project open to others beside yourselves?  If so, would there be a
place for someone with my basic skillset?

In the larger picture, if it is of interest to you, I am an
independent consultant who works in linguistics and IT.  My main areas
of work are ancient languages (Koine Greek, Middle Aramaic, and
Classical Hebrew), natural language processing (specifically
information retrieval and extraction), and database development along
these lines.  I also speak a few languages (English, French, and
German mostly) and read several others regularly for my work.  If you
would like to see a full CV, I am willing to provide one.

Thank you in advance for your consideration of my queries.  I look
forward to your reply.

Kind regards,

Albert Lukaszewski

Of course you can contribute code or documentation to Ocrad. Just find
something that Ocrad lacks, tell me about it (to avoid duplication of
efforts), code it and send me a patch. But I advise you to find an
easier project to develop your coding skills before trying to contribute
code to Ocrad.

Antonio Diaz.
