Hi all,
Thank you Philip, for bringing this email to my attention. Unfortunately, somehow Manipulated Image got left out of the last grant which we received from the Arts Commission. I had submitted my bio, and description of Manipulated Image as part of the summer series, and video clip of my work was included with the grant proposal, but somehow the description of Manipulated Image that I had enclosed was switched for Projected Light, and Maniuplated Image was dropped from the proposal. I lost two Internationally known artists, one of which showed in the last Venice Biennial, because I couldn't even offer the expense of sending their work.
So now that I have aired my frustration, the following is the description of Manipulated Image and some related support data. I will also present letters of support from the community, and participating artists.
Manipulated Image @ the Complex

Invited guests discuss the way they digitally transform images to achieve their personal vision. During the last 8 events, the works of thirty-three artists from five continents operating on the cutting edge of technology and at the highest levels of creative expression have been screened.

13 guest artists have discussed their work during the 8 Manipulated Image screenings. Three of these artists were from out of town. Two of these programs presented live interactive cinema. None of these artists have received stipends.
On April 24, during the third installment of Manipulated Image, featured guests, the Vasulkas made a historical presentation.
OTHER DATA:

During 7 shows, Manipulated Image has raised $1098 from ticket sales, all of which has gone to the Complex. The first show was free of charge.
Artists from other States are now inquiring about Manipulated Image and are being drawn to the Complex because of it, including Hey-Yeun Jang, an artist from New York City, whose work will be screened in December of 2009.
Manipulated Image has never had funding for ads in local papers. Regardless, a minimum of 5 free ads with color images, have appeared in the Reporter and Pasa Tiempo. In addition, the May 29th event was listed as "Pick of the Week" in the Reporter. See copies of the ads and write ups grouped with past event pics: http://alyssestepanian.com/mi_events.html
