reading messages without using the mouse focus

Hello,

Is there a way to jump to the next/previous message from the list of
messages while the focus stays in the window of the body of a given mail
(to be able to page-up/down) and without clicking in to the window of the
Subject/Sender preview list?

Ctrl-PgDown and Ctrl-PgUp work for me, but Ctrl-] and Ctrl-[ move to the
appropriate message and lose the focus on the preview pane.
