real quick question

stupid question, but maybe someone can help

most of these trackers have a retrigger for glitch beat, like Qxy.  The R retriggers but not in the classic glitch way, nor does E9x.  How do you retrigger single samples for glitch rolls in soundtracker.  I've looked over the effects menu and i just don't see it or am missing it?  can someone steer me right.  i'm looking for something like the ubiquitous Q function in IT.

thanks
brian

Could you explain what kind of effect do you want to help, please? As
for me, I haven't been working with trackers others than FT2 and ST, so
I don't know how Q works in IT. And I dont'n know what is exactlt
"glitch beat", either.

You may look at http://metamorph0sis.nm.ru/xmeffects.html But you won't
find nothing than R and E9. And also ST have unfixed bug with both of
these effects (FT2 also have, but another one).

Yury.

thanks for response
glitch beat = drum beat of glitch music aka braindance, idm, or bleep
the idea is to take a single sample of say a single snare shot and retrigger it indefinitely every y ticks.  R is for repositioning loops which is real primitive idm (like aphex twin) for retriggering or chopping a breakbeat (usu "Amen brother").  It no longer sounds innovative or fresh.  E9 only retriggers once it seems on ST.

The easiest way to hear the effect is to listen to anything by venetian squares (Aaron uses the retrigger in Renoise tracker).

Cheese tracker for linux does Q retrigger (i believe it is an impulse tracker clone).  I just prefer ST because of interface and smoothness.  I feel ST is a more pleasing and better program at this time.  I know that ST is a fast tracker clone and I may simply be out-of-luck, but I thought it was more likely I was missing something.

Thanks for any thoughts,
brian
