rich client gridbeansDear Unicore Developers,
My question is related to the Rich client. Until recently i used GPE client 4 unicore and several gridbeans with it e.g. gaussian 03 gridbean and gamess gridbean based on it. I was really said to realize that those gridbeans do not work with the Rich client, and even worse - when i put these gridbeans in the folder with the standard ones, which work perfectly ok, the client doesn't rezognize old gridbeans at all as they are not even there. Could somebody help me with this problem? Is there any general guide how to port old gridbeans to the new format supported be Rich client? Any help is much appreciated.
Sincerely yours, Igor

Re: rich client gridbeansHi Igor, I've just updated a wiki page that I had written about GridBean development in the course of the Chemomentum project. It is now publicly accessible at https://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/unicore/index.php?title=GridBean_Development It covers basic principles of GridBean development and also includes a small section that explicitly deals with API changes since 1.4. The section is not fully not exhaustive, but I think it provides a good starting point for overcoming the most frequent issues that developers will have. In case you still run into problems or come across API changes that haven't been documented there, feel free to ask me more specifically. I will also try to improve the migration section on the wiki in order to make porting GridBeans even easier. Another document you might want to look at can be found at http://www.unicore.eu/documentation/manuals/unicore6/files/GridbeanDevelopersGuide.pdf. It is a general guide to implementing GridBeans, written for the new API. Regarding GridBeans for Gaussian and Gamess, you might want to contact two developers that have recently worked on updated versions of these: Valentina Huber (here at Jülich) is in the course of implementing a GridBean for Gaussian, whereas Lukasz Miroslaw (Uni Zürich) has been working on a Gamess GridBean for the Chemomentum project. Hope this helps, Bastian Igor Polyakov wrote: > Dear Unicore Developers, > > My question is related to the Rich client. Re: rich client gridbeansHi, Bastian,
Thank you very much for the answer! Unfortunately the link i'm eager to see (https://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/unicore/index.php?title=GridBean_Development) is not publicly accessible (requires authentification). Is there any way to get an access there for me?
Best regards, Igor
