Are you sure about that model number? Perhaps you meant rx2600 (which i have, works fine), zx6000 (also works fine), or rx6600? OpenPA is a great resource for hppa and itanium machines:

Debian should run fine on an rx6600 (as noted in the subject line.) As a
general rule, you should make sure you are on the latest firmware prior
to installation.
