screencast plugin in trunk

Hi all:

Yesterday I could have a look at trying latest trunk and I saw some new
files added related a new plugin called screencast (sounds nice :-)

Any link to more information about this feature, so that we can help
document it at doc.tw.o/tiki4 ?

I could only find this wish:  http://dev.tikiwiki.org/wish2711

(and also, of course, learn how to use it so that we can dogfood our own
resources to produce the next screencasts we might produce... I have
"category transitions" in mind, for instance... :-)

Xavi

Hi Xavi,

Here is a page about it at the mozilla site -
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Support/ScreencastsPRD - assuming the same
details apply for the Tiki version. If I'm not mistaken, it looks like a
video player that has the "Screencast" name because of how it's applied
at SUMO. Maybe it could be retitled "Video" for Tiki, and have a
"Screencast" alias (or vice versa). I just read quickly through that
page, but it apparently Screencast differs from Tiki's current Flash and
Mediaplayer plugins in that it also has .ogg support and uses a
dedicated storage directory rather than accepting any flash url. I don't
see any information about creating the screencast. The example I found
for SUMO used jing (http://www.jingproject.com/) to produce the video
that Screencast plays.

Thanks, Gary.

Ok, then, it looks like porting from sumo to tiki is in the way...
I added a reference in doc.tw.o/tiki4 to the three new plugins that lph
has recently edited in svn (mainly, as a place holder for him or others
who can document them once they/we know how to are they used).

Cheers

Xavi
