i wonder if there could be a server streaming the sum of
people twittin sc
and if listeners could choose one's favorite sctwittists
it'll be an instant wed-dj done with dynamic presets

:)  fun... now, we need a quark to hook into the interpreter
preprocessor function and automatically submit the first 80 characters
of every code block you execute into twitter.

The hard 140-character limit is an interesting challenge. Kind of like

interpriter language can be more cosmopolitan than english on twitter
i still cannot write anything like that but if there's something like this:

just push some silly graphic buttons to express your feelings
it'll generate a code that is shorter than 140
it'll be your blog that has an rss.xml
then you can use http://twitterfeed.com/ to automatically update your twitts
http://twitpic.com/
doesn't even require you to do that
i mean ... a comment to your picture automatically comes into your
twitter account as a @reply

ah... am a nerd

This code is fantastic Dan, but I can only get it to work if I get rid of the clip2 method.

Hmm, I thought that was changed a while back, but maybe not. Change
"clip2" to "clip2(1)", it seems to need a default value...

twitterpated with #supercollider overload?
jonesin' for a 140-char-max fix in your ear?

fret not!

and execute:

(
var p, a, l, d, doc;
p = Pipe.new(
  "curl http://search.twitter.com/search.atom?q=%23supercollider+play",
  "r"
);
a = "";
l = p.getLine;
while({l.notNil}, {a = a + l; l = p.getLine; });
p.close;

d = DOMDocument.new;
d.parseXML(a);
t = d.getElementsByTagName("entry").collect { |e|

  "// by " + e.getElementsByTagName("author").first
          .getElementsByTagName("name").first.getText() + ":\n" +

  e.getElementsByTagName("title").first.getText()

};

Document(string:"// #supercollider tweets\n\n\n" +
  t.join("\n\n\n\n")).syntaxColorize;
)

THE CAVEAT SLIDE
a slight delay is to be expected, to await the gathering of twitters' reply.
(do not be alarmed. all part of the show, my friends)
oh and yeah you'll need the XML Quark
(http://quarks.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/quarks/XML/)
and it only works if you can run Pipe (sorry, PC  ... ceci n'est pas une
pipe)

enjoy
e

Great, thanks!

note for sc-twitterers: use this notation for symbols:
'asymbol'
rather than
\asymbol
The latter results in garbled characters in emacs :)

sincerely,
Marije

That's really cool Erik!

Now we can be followers of these haiku coders without having to sign up
for Twitter. (which I might do when minutes become spare again).

oh wow!
now i think i really have to force myself to shape up my style
in order to be able to twitt the sc
and i kinda believe that the tut for sc newbies (am still one of those) could start from
"how to sctwitt (the a2z of makin noiz with a 1-line script)"
oh if someone could start a site or a podcast or a blog titled
"today's sctwitt"
which will analize the line
like what those language lesson site would do
ah am hungry
