searching for a 25 seconds delay

Hello everyone,

We have been running 1.4.10 since it was released.

The server is FreeBSD 6.x with the latest versions of Postfix, Cyrus  
IMAP and Cyrus SASL. Passwords and e-mail accounts are stored in a  
PostgreSQL database.

Some months ago (I cannot recall exactly when) a delay of 25 seconds  
appeared.

It looks like this:

1. The front page of Squirrelmail appears immediately
2. On login one has to wait 25 seconds and the frameset appears
3. In another 25 seconds the right frame (the INBOX content) appears
4. In another 25 seconds the left frame (the list of folders) appears
5. One has to wait 25 seconds to change he folder or to go to another  
page inside a folder.
6. Going into Compose, Addresses, Options, Search and Help happens  
immediately.
7. Going into Folders needs 25 seconds.

We tried both the Cyrus IMAP and Cyrus SASL mailing list and we tried  
to measure the authentication speeds, however the slowdown happens  
after the authentication -

i. tail -f auth.log shows "Apr 22 23:14:48 xxxxxxx PAM_pgsql[746]:  
(imap) user xxxxx@... authenticated." immediately when one  
clicks on a link that will require 25 seconds waiting.
ii. imtest and testsaslauthd login immediately

In the same time mail clients like Mac Mail (appear to) operate  
normally.

We upgraded to 1.4.17 today, but the 25 seconds delay remain.

Could someone help us with additional tips where could the problem be?
