sending fax using xsane & efax
Dear all,
I am using xsane 0.97 & efax0.9a (efax-gtk-3.0.15). I would like to send faxes through xsane. The xsane documentation is not helpful and have googled my query with no success In xsane, a fax project is created by entering the name of the project and the receiving telephone number in to separate "field boxes" It scans the document and saves the image as a *.pnm file in the project folder along with a file "xsane-path-list" (text file) that holds the receiving number and scanned image details. In the xsanefax setup, it asks for the command to be executed in fax mode. It has 3 default options, one of which is efax. Selecting efax gives the command fax send - this does not work. If I use the command efax - the modem activates and starts immediately sending the fax tone without dialling any number the .pnm file is converted to .ps file the modem continues to try and send the fax to nowhere. To stop I either switch off the modem or use efax stop and xsane hangs. Is there a command line in efax that will read the number held by xsane for each fax message? I have not been able to get much response from anyone knowledgeable with xsane yet? Those that I have asked, have said that xsane is working fine as it is queueing the fax (I don't think this is the case as I cannot find any of the queued faxes) and that it is an efax issue I hope someone can help who has got efax and xsane to work together hopefully yours Neil
