Is there a way to have a text signature appended to your posts made through Nabble?

Thanks,

Roger

Sorry, no, we don't have that. My personal opinion is that sigantures tend to get excessive. And because a signature  is a personal tag, it is often off-topic to the thread of the discussion. So I would rather not to have any signature, but this is just my personal opinion ...

I like the idea of signatures.  If a few more people ask for this feature, I think it will get done.

I agree that excessive signatures can be displeasing. However, Nabble is not the only interface to the mailing lists and there are many sources which provide a signature feature. Perhaps even the majority do.

I would like to be able to specify a signature (I promise to keep it brief :-) once so I don't have to type it in each time.

I think you've addressed a separate issue: Should Nabble provide a feature to filter out the signatures (excessive or otherwise) on the posts made to the mailing lists? (I don't want to speculate on its practicality nor on its difficulty to implement.)

Thank you,

Patrick Smith
My signature wouldn't even be this long.

+1 for signatures.

To keep them brief, maybe the following can be added to echa profile:
- Have a "Signature URL" configured as a link.
- Tagline: a line of text, limited in length to whatever seems reasonable (40-80 chars?).

The signature will have an standard look:

This is my catchy tagline

That would be enough for me.

I think signatures would be a great idea.  Users of my forum are asking for it on one of my threads [ http://www.nabble.com/do-you-have-a-signatcherer%28I-cant-spell%29-here-if-so-where-can-you-make-it-t4307060.html]

Also, allowing avatars would also be a nice touch.

Both the signatures and avatars will be there. We will do the standard vBulletin and phpBB types but we may also look around to find and emulate the best styles out there. Please let us know if you know anything interesting.

You can now create a signature by clicking on "Edit Signature" on your account page.
