Hi Raviteja:

Please install PC-BSD or Linux !

If you want the "phree" DVD's just come for the TSM this
Saturday, and collect a copy of openSUSE Linux from the
volunteers.

With this permanent solution, you can spend your available time
acquiring skills that will help you learn the subject, work on a
project and get ahead in life.

thanks
Saifi.

Hi Raviteja,

Even I faced a similar problem a year ago...It might be a hardware problem.
Please share your system configuration,OS etc., as they'll be useful to
identify the problem.

thanks,

Dear Saifi, out of my own curiousity, how does PC-BSD or Linux help?
Does it change the ACPI settings or something similar?
I had a similar problem a few years ago, and it turned out to be a RAM
overheat. Windoze would just restart out of the blue. I changed the
RAM chips so that instead of 1x512 MB, I had 2x256 MB. I also added a
cabinet fan. Then, Windoze started functioning as properly as it
usually does. :)

Hey Anirudh:

If you'd have RAM related issues, then they'll show up as BSOD
(Blue Screen of Death) with an attendent reboot !

If you're truly worried about heating issues the two things to
do are:
1. open the PC cabinet and remove the side casings
2. blow out the fine dust that has settled on the board and sink

The rest of the symptoms are because of 'software PIRACY' !

thanks
Saifi.

My computer never BSODed. It just used to reboot instantly.

Dear Raviteja,

You say that your PC shutdown after 4 to 5 hours, If you can explain the
operating system . then It is easier to suggest and solve the problem
