some wiki questions!

sorry if these are obvious; not been much involved in the wiki aside
from a handful of pet-guidelines :)

- i don't seem to get emails when pages on my watchlist are updated
any more (in the new wiki, that is). searched through the preferences
and couldn't seem to find anything that would enable/disable this but
i might be missing something obvious!

- why do pages on  have "This page is a copy of the WikiPage ..." and
then a link to the oldwiki rather than wiki.musicbrainz.org (the live
one)?

- related - what's the process by which pages from the wiki get to
http://musicbrainz.org/doc ? reading
http://musicbrainz.org/doc/WikiDocs it implies that the last 'stable'
version is used, but i've seen an edit go through seemingly instantly
- presumably these edits are done by those involved in the transfer
process? what if the change is then discussed/amended on the live
wiki? nothing has happened on the one i'm looking at :P

cheers,
chris/gecks

It seems there is a way to receive email updates of watched pages, and I'm seeing to forwarding the information on to the powers that be.
Hopefully this will be implemented.

It is a time consuming process to clean up the formatting on all the articles in MediaWiki (come help out!), and this has also turned into a good opportunity to somewhat reorganize the wiki.
So in order to ease the transition from MoinMoin to MediaWiki, the pages that are displayed on http://musicbrainz.org/doc/FOO are actually taken from MoinMoin where they're still (for the most part) comprehensible. And of course, since the data is taken from MoinMoin, it makes sense to link to MoinMoin to view other details.

All the docs viewable at that address are from MoinMoin, so changes won't be displayed there at all.
"Stable" docs are in reference to docs that make up our official/moderated WikiDocs, and those have to be manually transcluded by an appropriate editor to bring them up to the latest revision, until an official document is transcluded, only the last "stable" revision of the document will end up showing.
The section just below the image on http://musicbrainz.org/doc/WikiDocs should help make this clear.

Again, this is because the data is coming from the old wiki, which can't be edited.

Hope that helps,
