Hello,
I bundle squirrelmail in my RavenCore application, and distribute it as
a .rpm file. When upgrading from a previous release that contains
squirrelmail-1.4.17, I get this error:
# rpm -Uvh ravencore-0.3.6-0.1250297243.noarch.rpm
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
1:ravencore ########################################### [100%]
error: unpacking of archive failed on file
/usr/local/ravencore/var/apps/squirrelmail/doc/ReleaseNotes: cpio:
rename failed - Is a directory
My latest snapshot contains squirrelmail-1.4.20RC1 (I'm putting in
squirrelmail-1.4.20-RC2 right now). I dug a little deeper, it looks like
the "ReleaseNotes" directory was changed to be a file at the 1.4.18
release, and stuff moved into a new release_notes_archive directory. So
this "bug" report is is a little late, my apologies for not upgrading
squirrelmail sooner.
I did some googling and found other people that had similar issues with
a squirrelmail rpm, but didn't find a reference of this on the
squirrelmail mailing-list archives.
My fix for this on the RPM side of things was to just give the
ReleaseNotes a .txt extenion in the rpm build script;
mv ravencore/var/apps/squirrelmail/doc/ReleaseNotes
ravencore/var/apps/squirrelmail/doc/ReleaseNotes.txt
Now I realize this is more of a rpm packaging problem than it is a bug
in squirrelmail, but I thought I would let you know. Not usually a good
idea to name a directory and then later rename it as a file, or vice-versa.
Thanks for all the hard work!
