It's in bar 24 here, but I can definitely repeat the underlying phenomenon.  
Very strange.

It took me several hours to find where the staff lines are changed but I finally found it and fixed the problem. I was tired of doing nothing but complaining and decided it was high time that I actually did something.

When it turned the lines into gray it was UGLY, with these gray lines going through black notes. Thus I simply killed the gray color. That also solved the problem you raised.

I hope this commit actually passed through. NetBeans got stuck in an endless loop and I had to reboot. It seems to have gone through since "Update" didn't change it back or complain.
