strange behaviour

Hi all
I'm using Kaffeine v 0.8.7 on Ubuntu 8.10 64 bit amd.
I've been using Kaffeine for a long while but recently problems when
using digital TV.
When you go to change channel it freezes., It will only go to the first
channel listed.
I've reinstalled several times, nuked all its files in .kde. it scans
the local transmitter and you can load the channels.
Which would imply the DVB-T card is OK, any ideas ?
