The question of graphics (plot & GUI) is an actually "need to address"
subject. Looking other free sci-packs, i found CERN ROOT as a C++ framework
for data analysis, plotting and user interfacing. It could be an opportunity
to use this library an save large amounts of development time, once Octave
is built in C++, and thus we can have a Matlab-like frontend for this
system. It would be useful for both communities: The octave one could get an
"almost done" upgrade on Octave capabilities, and the ROOT one would not
have to learn all the C++ stuff to get your work done, simply by using the
more direct language of Octave. It´s only a suggestion...
