Hi,

when i make a checkout from forge via svn all Umlauts(äü..) in locallang
files are broken. I believe this is a charset problem, are the commerce
files in forge utf-8 encoded? How can i make a svn checkout so that
Umlauts are displayed correct?

kind regards,
Georg Schönweger

Hi,

I use Tortoise on WinXP and just checked out the latest svn - no Umlau
problems at all.
Which program on which platform do you use? And which editor do you use
to open the files?

Best,
Robert

Hi Bob,

i'm using svn, version 1.5.0 on Open Suse 11. To open the files i'm
using vim. I noticed that also if i view or download the files directly
from forge svn browser the Umlauts are broken
(http://forge.typo3.org/repositories/entry/extension-commerce/trunk/pi3/locallang.xml)

kind regards,

Confirmed - earlier, I only checked pi2, but in pi3 and pi4 the Umlauts
are indeed broken and show sth like this: ?§m (instead of ä)

No Umlauts in pi1, pi6, but there language specific letters in other
languages than German seem to be wrongly encoded (eg Italian in pi6).

Am I wrong or is the folder pi5 removed from now on???

Reagrds,
Robert

so how to get the language files with correct charset? Is there a way to
checkout so that the charset isn't broken?

kind regards,
Georg
