syncing "other phone"

I'm trying to figure out the best way of dealing with this... I have
various contacts with an additional phone number. These tend to be
people with voip numbers, additional mobile numbers or similar.

My temptation has always been to add "Other Phone" to Turba and store
the number there. What I'd like is to get this synced between the phone
and Horde.

I suspect because the "Other Phone" is not part of Horde's usual contact
data the sync code won't handle this.

Does anyone have any thoughts or an easier way of dealing with this?

There is a large number of number-like attributes that can be synced  
with Turba. The question is, which numbers do your other devices  
support?

"Other Phone" is supported on my iphone, not sure about other devices. I
suspect a modest number of devices will support it. I guess what is
really needed is a way to tie what the device reports in syncml to a
Turba attribute.

I can probably hack on my install, but was wondering if there was a
better way?

Exactly. Without that you are just stabbing at the dark. Enable sync  
logging and look at data.txt to see what the phone is actually sending.
