tightvncserver.conf seemed non-functional.

Hi, list,

I am using the latest version 1.3.10 in my box.

While exec 'vncserver :3', I got:

Couldn't start Xvnc; trying default font path.
Please set correct fontPath in the vncserver script.
Couldn't start Xvnc process.
 
Couldn't open RGB_DB '/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/rgb'

My box didn;t have /usr/X11R6/xxx directory, instead, mine is /usr/share/X11/lib/fonts/xxx.

So then I add the below line into /etc/tightvncserver.conf:

$fontPath = "/usr/share/X11/fonts/75dpi/";

but after exec vncserver :3 again, the result is same with above.

I have to create symbol link to those missing directory to make the vncserver work.

Any suggestions?

Could it be possible that you used the "vncserver" script from an older
TightVNC installation? The configuration files are read by the vncserver
script, not by Xvnc.
