See attached screen shot  of tooltips in menus.

I can't say when this started to happen. As you can see it is only a
problem in the tooltips of the menu.

Toolbar, you mean.

I don't see that here.  What version of Qt are you using?  That might possibly
explain any difference if it doesn't happen to be 4.5.x.

Well, yes. Qt 4.4
Unfortunately that is what is available on Hardy. I did do a quick
search for a launchpad updated version of qt4.5 but couldn't find one.

Oh well, so long as it's just local to me.

Don't know if it is or not.  We officially support Qt 4.4, so this is a
problem.  I can't do much of anything to test solutions though.

Is it all toolbars everywhere, or just the main window?

Ok, i just fired her up again. Unfortunately it seems to be
anywhere there is a tooltip for a toolbar. It is the same in notation
view and matrix. Notation view is quite a problem as all the notation
doodads (like note to rest) are black tooltips.

Is anyone else using Hardy (or any other distro that uses qt4.4) that
could test? Maybe we should ask on the rosegarden-user list.

This one is going to be hard to fix, and I keep forgetting about it.  Don't
let me forget, Shelagh, because we do officially support Qt 4.4, as much as I
wish we didn't have to.

Well, I'll try to keep reminding you. But if there is something I can
do apart from look at code which wouldn't help much anyway, like
compile a debug version and put it through gdb (or what ever). I will
gladly do.

Cheers
