Re: top speedWithout any idea of how bike is set up, a few things that come to mind...
-sprocket gearing is different -it may need a tuneup -high wind resistance from big windshield CR linda cotgrave wrote: > Why can other 125 virago riders reach 70m.p.h. and my 2003 125 can > only reach 63m.p.h. top speed. > ___________________________________________________________________________ (un)subscribe info: http://mail.itg.uiuc.edu/mailman/listinfo/virago archives: http://archives.itg.uiuc.edu/virago |

Re: RPM's at 60 and 70 MPHI have a XV750K 1982 Virago, seems like the engine RPM's are pretty high at
freeway speeds. What RPM's should I expect to see at 60 MPH and 70 MPH? Re: top speedThat is the life of owning a 125 or 250. Lots of times you feel like the
little brother yellin wait up. Id do a sprocket count and see if the ones doing 70 are different. A glidousminimums or glidousmaximums can effect things;) Head winds are awful on top speed on the smaller bikes. Maybe get a mini shield to help cut the wind. Its more aerodynamic then you. linda cotgrave wrote: > > Why can other 125 virago riders reach 70m.p.h. and my 2003 125 can > only reach 63m.p.h. top speed. > > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- > To help you stay safe and secure online, we've developed the all new > Yahoo! Re: RPM's at 60 and 70 MPHits normal. the virago is happy at home in the hi rpm range. Don't worry
about it, find some twisty roads and red line them gears. You will have fun tormenting sport bike riders. dale_peterson wrote: > > I have a XV750K 1982 Virago, seems like the engine RPM's are pretty high at > freeway speeds. > What RPM's should I expect to see at 60 MPH and 70 MPH? > > Thank You > Dale P.......... > 82 750 Virago > 2001 Dyna Wide Glide > > ___________________________________________________________________________ > (un)subscribe info: http://mail.itg.uiuc.edu/mailman/listinfo/virago > archives: http://archives.itg.uiuc.edu/virago (un)subscribe info: http://mail.itg.uiuc.edu/mailman/listinfo/virago archives: http://archives.itg.uiuc.edu/virago |

Re: RPM's at 60 and 70 MPH"What RPM's should I expect to see at 60 MPH and 70 MPH?"
My 1100 turns about 3500 at 60 and about 4100 at 70. The 750 is geared a little lower, meaning you will see a few hundred more rpm's.
