Hi,

I'm an egnineering student and thinking about  modifying TOTEM MOVIE
PLAYER by inlcuding

* a *LIBRARY* in so as to keep track of all the files played once in the
player for easy future access.
* a *Cutting tool* to save video from a specified starting position to
Ending position

I would also like to add some buttons like

  - skip forward
  - skip backward
  - screen shot
  - stop

  - fullscreen

in the  front end.

I'm a beginner so any help will be thankful
I  dont know how to start this project .

 regards

There is no need to skip buttons as we have the slider and one can also click on
the slider. Also a fullscreen button us superflous as the function is in the
menu and ther eis a shortcut key.

totem has a plugin interface. I think it would be more interesting to write a
plugin to adds access to another popular media webservice to totem.

Hi Manoj,

If you run for example Ubuntu you have some totem plugins installed by default.
For example, make sure you got the "Sidebar" checked in the "View" menu of totem.
Then you will probably see a playlist in the right part of totem. If you change
the selection in the top combo-box (the one that currently says "Playlist"), then
you can select things like "Youtube" and "BCC". Both of these are totem plugins
that allows you to play YouTube and BCC iPlayer content directly inside totem!
