Do i have to buy tickets evrytime i travel on metro or do i have the option of a weekly ticket/seasons ticket for travelling,

There is no weekly ticket or season ticket for travel by metro. But you can use Stored-Value Ticket or Yangchengtong Card.
Stored-Value Ticket: you should pay 20RMB for deposit, and charge 50RMB each time, and its expiration is 500 days. You can buy it at the metro service centre.
Yangchengtong Card: you can buy and charge it at any metro station with the deposit of 30RMB. You can use it to travel by bus, taxi, and metro. It has no expiration date.
