two separate tick boxes for "Show postpone and skip button" ?Yes, great piece of software, I use it on any computer I am working on. One suggestion to make it more likely I take breaks: The "Show postpone and skip button" is all one tick box. Can you make it into two ? ie. Tick box for: "Show postpone button" Tick box for: "Show skip button" if the postpone button is shown then upon each postpone the time for the postpone is cut in half until after say 3 postponese there is no choice, you are locked out. I tend to otherwise skip things too often - a self discipline thing I know. thanks if this should be posted in some other way let me know please thanks heiko heiko.rudolph@... I don't know. We try to achieve a good balance between keeping the user interface (especially the preferences) simple and understandable while on the other hand giving the user enough freedom to tweak Workrave's behavior. I agree with the original poster, and the filer of bug #416. I have added comments to bug 416 and voted for it. I don't think the user interface would be any more difficult if enabling the postpone and skip buttons was on a per-button basis. It is just as difficult an interface to have a single choice for both buttons. The main problem is the user does not have enough information to know which choice to make. The main difficulty with this part of the user interface is the lack of help text explaining how the skip and postpone buttons work in practice. I also think the effectiveness of the postponement option would be greater if postponement got steadily more difficult each time it was used. Postponement should really only be for emergencies (e.g., your boss is on the telephone and needs something now), but right now it is too easy to slip into a routine of simply postponing a break. -- Joe ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Workrave-user mailing list Workrave-user@... https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/workrave-user |
