upcoming fontconfig trouble

Hello List,

the upcoming change of fontconfig from 2.6.0 to 7.2.3 will
break compatibility with current linux-f10-fontconfig (linux
apps get SIGSEGV -- acroread, skype, realplayer were tested).

Well, what shall we do to overcome it? I don't know what to do
with fc4 ports as well since I didn't use them for a long time.
