usage scenarios

At the meeting in Minneapolis I agreed to start the discussion on usage
scenarios that would help identify the requirement for experiment
control and management in GENI.  Given this broad scope, it is still not
entirely clear what the exact goals are of these scenarios but I have
attached a first attempt, with input from Steve Schwab and Jay Lepreau.

Comments, input, discussion to this mailing list,

Peter

Peter-

I commend you and your collaborators on putting together a very good
starting point for discussing use cases.  Many thanks for taking the
time to do this.

I'd like to suggest adding a couple of post-mortem stages to explore
some additional capabilities the facility will need to support.  I
have two threads in mind: first, the configuration, collection,
validation, and publication of measured data and, second, the
documentation, publication, and maintenance of experimental software
for reuse.

Both of these functions are important parts of how GENI can support
research and identifying where standard tools and facility-supported
services will be needed is important for gauging the work ahead.

Best regards,

--aaron

Hello Aaron:
Both are of course important steps.  Since there have been no other
comments, I have added these steps to the document and appended the new
version.
