use categories for tracker statusDear All I think the current way of tracker item statusing is too hardcoded, maybe categories should be used for this purpose to enable flexible statusing. This could be an option in the tracker setup by having a dropdown field where you can select one category. Field name: "Status scheme", upon save associate the Category ID to the Tracker ID, the tracker field type called category can be used to display it on the tracker. What do you think? Would this change cause too many troubles with tracker plugins, existing trackers, etc? Re: use categories for tracker statusYes, had that in mind too
We are rolling out Jira from Atlassian in my company for ticketing now, I am configuring it and can't stop thinking that the whole thing could be done with Tiki too..maybe not right now, but it is not very far away..check this for ideas: http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Configuring+Workflow a bit of work on workspaces + categories + category transitions + trackers and there we go :) cheers, gezza From: Marc Laporte <marc@...> To: Tikiwiki developers <tikiwiki-devel@...> Sent: Tue, November 3, 2009 11:22:30 PM Subject: Re: [Tikiwiki-devel] use categories for tracker status Another benefit: http://dev.tikiwiki.org/Category+Transitions M ;-) On Sun, Nov 1, 2009 at 5:59 PM, gezza nagy <gezzzan@...> wrote: > Dear All > > I think the current way of tracker item statusing is too hardcoded, maybe > categories should be used for this purpose to enable flexible statusing. > This could be an option in the tracker setup by having a dropdown field > where you can select one category.
