using .vnc files to connect to listening viewerHi, I'm wondering whether it is possible to create a .vnc file that can be used for clients to connect to my listening viewer. IE, bypass the need to startup the service, then "add new client" and enter my details. It'd be more convenient to be able to just give them a file to leave on their desktop, double click to connect. All info I can find about the .vnc files is for a connection to a server, not the other way around. Any ideas? Cheers

I think is possible to reach the target using a "script file" (.bat or .cmd).

Re: using .vnc files to connect to listening viewerI've managed to create a batch file basically invoking winvnc.exe -connect {ip}, but it's not clean - it brings up a command prompt and also relies on the install directory. If I could do it via .vnc, it would be better. I don't think it has that functionality though. How can we put in requests to the devs? I've got a couple of others and happy to donate.

I think you might want prepare a shortcut instead of a batch file -- that would not show up a command prompt window. Also, you can always add winvnc.exe to PATH or copy to some preset location, so the shortcut would not rely on the installation directory. -- With Best Wishes, Constantin ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Come build with us!
