using Atlas increase executable size by alot

I am currently using Atlas for cblas_dgemm. When I compile my code
it jumps to 800 kb in size. I have used GotoBlas before and using
dgemm on that only increase my executable by 80kb. Is this common?
Did I do something wrong when I compiled ATLAS?
