Hi all,
Just to give you an update on my progress with the v11 version... Two years ago I sustained a physical injury to my large intestine. It did not require surgery, but I ended up in the hospital twice because of complications related to the injury. The nature of the injury is such that it is very slow to heal. I suffered immensely for a year and a half, and it is only in the last six months that my health was getting back to normal, although I still have severe limitations on the kind and amount of exercise I can do. This injury is one reason for me getting started so late with the v11 version of Active4D. Anyway, I had been slowly improving over the past few months and was feeling quite strong up until a week and a half ago, when I walked too far and the injury flared up. Since then I have been quite sick and unable to get much of anything done. I am just starting to feel better now, but I anticipate another week or two before I am back to where I was before this relapse. Today is the first day I feel strong enough to do serious programming. For all of you who have been suffering without a v11 version of Active4D, I will gladly trade your suffering for mine! Please be assured that I take my commitment to the v11 version seriously and am doing my best. Unfortunately I am only human and there is only one of me to do the work. So I must humbly beg for your forgiveness and patience. Thank you for your openness. It is with all sincerity that I send
wishes for your complete recovery and restoration to health. I have written a lot of A4D code in recent months and am continually impressed with the intelligence of its design and implementation. Peter, I was wondering about your statement about 4D and problems. Though we haven't switched to 11 for our clients as of yet, I like to be 'in the know'. Is there something specific you're referring to? I've followed the NUG as best I can, but I would be interested to read some of the larger issues that your msg seems to imply... Thanks! 1. have a structure with 256 tables -> crash (add 1 more table to fix it) 2. have a quick report with a picture, add a line: vpict:=pict*0.24 -> crash 3. C/S and POP RECORD -> crash and more. I'm just waiting for for 11.4b2 beside this, testing is getting harder. about half. yes. Just a another product to buy. Did you buy the commercial or the non-commercial version - and can you debug 4D code with this version? Here we have so called "Partner contracts", they include a 4D Developer Edition and a 4D Server. But you can't buy a web server or web serices extensions for this server - and that's a so called "developer version". At least for me, it is hard to understand.
