Hi there!

Fedora currently ships a 2.6.29 kernel with the DVB parts from the
linux-next tree. However the linux-next tree has the video_encoder.h and
video_decoder.h removed (as is apparently unused). However it is needed
to compile adv717x. As this Kernel will probably be shipped with the
upcoming Fedora 11 this issue should probably be resolved. Also I assume
that there changes will sooner or later find their way into mainline kernel.

The changelog says:
V4L/DVB (10738): Get rid of video_decoder.h header were uneeded
       V4L/DVB(10738a): remove include/linux/video_encoder.h

Here's a link to the patch that is used in the fedora kernel:
http://cvs.fedoraproject.org/viewvc/rpms/kernel/devel/linux-2.6-v4l-dvb-update.patch?view=markup

Just out of curiosity: Would it be possible to use/modify the adv7170 or
adv7175 modules for use with em8300?

Felix
