viewing locally data produced remotely

Hello,

Is there a preferred way to locally view data produced remotely?

A kind of kst client and server (I remember there was a cache stuff
I have seen being demonstrated for the HFI Planck project but I don't
remember if it was generic or specific to the Planck data).

For the moment, I plan to do pipes over the network with netcat
to make the data arrive locally, but it will not be that easy to
setup neither user friendly at the end.
