virago running on one cylinder

 I have been trying to fix my bike for weeks now.. I cleaned the carbs and now my front cylinder in not running... Back one runs strong.. I can take spark plug off the back one and focuss on front one only and can get it to start but have to give it mid throttle just for it to stay running. I have tryed to set the idle control thing up under the bowls of the carb but it is not responding.. I can close it all the way or I can open it 6 turns and no change... still runs the same... Any ideas anyone?? 84 virago 700

new battery
carbs just cleaned
new plugs ( I am getting spark)
Fresh gas ( Iput some seafoam in it too)
