voice activationHi I have an interesting problem which I hope someone
might be able to throw some light on. A bank is currently testing the accessibility of a
login facility for internet banking. It appears to be accessible with a screen
reader and is not mouse dependent. However, we are having problems getting it
to work with Dragon – very difficult to use Dragon to enter ID and
password with voice only. Also difficult to navigate with Dragon. Could it be
something to do with the JavaScript? If anyone has any experience with voice input accessibility
would they mind having a quick look at this https://online.westpac.com.au/esis/Login/SrvPage?referrer=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.westpac.com.au%2F
. All suggestions appreciated. Thanks Roger Roger Hudson Web Usability Ph: 02 9568 1535 Mb: 0405 320 014 Email:

RE: voice activationHi Roger, I was also having problems dictating into
the Customer ID field. I could type letters by announcing “type J”,
“type A”, and so on… This is an awkward way of entering a
password. A Dragon user has a couple of ways to navigate through this:
Many Dragon users will attempt to navigate
and activate content by speaking the words that are seen visually on the
screen. Currently, the inner text of the hyperlink tabs is “personal”
and “business” respectively. I would suggest placing the full text (as
seen visually in the buttons) as the anchor text of your hyperlinks: <UL sizcache="44"
sizset="41"> <LI sizcache="44"
sizset="41"><A href="#"><I>Personal customers</I></A></LI> <LI sizcache="44"
sizset="42"><A href="#"><I>Business customers</I></A></LI> </UL> Good Luck Jason Megginson From: Hi I have an interesting problem which I hope someone
