vsftpd - 2.0.5-r1I am running vsftpd - 2.0.5-r1 on an NSLU2 running SlugOS/BE.
I am trying to establish an FTP/s connection but get this error: SSL: ssl_enable is set but SSL support not compiled in I am using the vsftpd (from the optional repository). Is SSL support not compiled into vsftpd? If yes, is there a reason why not to add SSL support? It kind of defeats the "s" in vs. If SSL support is compiled in, then I will go back and check my configs. If it is not compiled in can I get SSL support compiled in for future builds and added to the repository. Thanks. -- |

I can't think of any reason not to include SSL support other than file size, but then I am not one of the developers. I am sure that they had their reasons for not including it. > In vsftpd README.ssl, "By default, SSL support is disabled both at compile time and at runtime.". It also seems quite cautious against including SSL. With that said, I've compiled SSL support in optware vsftpd 2.1.2 on platforms where openssl version is 0.9.8 and above. -Brian |

It also seems quite cautious against including SSL. Weird as it is compiled in on every Linux distro I have used (Red Hat, Debian, Suse, Gentoo, etc...). > > With that said, I've compiled SSL support in optware vsftpd 2.1.2 on platforms > where openssl version is 0.9.8 and above. I am still getting the same error with the 2.1.2 version. I will go back and check my openssl version. Thank you for your time and your help, it is much appreciated. |

It looks like I am running version 0.9.7m-5, which it the latest from the repositories. |

I will set up a 4.8 environment and work from there first. Thanks for your help. |
