Quickly looking at the release notes brings two things to mind:
* If related bug tracker issues are available, then including links
in the release notes could raise visibility to it;
* "The $HOME variable in now ignored on Windows platforms", "in now"
--> "is now".

The button in the lower right hand corner fails to open the dialog box.

Conversely, Views > Show parsing erros does open the dialog box.

Any thoughts on what might be the cause?

Comme beaucoup de personnes ici, je pense qu'Amaya est un outil
indispensable et je tiens à vous remercier pour tout ce que vous avez
fait. Vous avez toujours été là pour répondre patiemment aux demandes de
la communauté sur les corrections de bogues et les ajouts de
fonctionnalités, même lorsque celles-ci étaient peu courtoises ou
exagérées pour un nombre restreint de développeurs. Ayant eu le
privilège de partager votre bureau pendant un été, je peux affirmer que
vous avez toujours effectué votre travail avec passion, allant parfois
jusqu'à rester corriger un bogue à l'heure du déjeuner ! Encore merci
pour vous être occupé de moi pendant mon stage sur l'éditeur SVG, ce fût
réellement un plaisir de travailler avec vous. J'espère pouvoir apporter
mon aide pour continuer à faire vivre Amaya... Qui sait, peut être qu'un
jour il pourra concurrencer les navigateurs tout en conservant ses
méthodes d'édition, tant appréciées par les utilisateurs ? ;-)

merci beaucoup pour tous que tu as fait pour Amaya. Ce sera un peu étrange
de l'imaginer sans toi - je viens de l'installer sur un ordinateur
(reinstallé - c'est la troisième chose, après l'OS et Opera, que
j'installe sur tous mes ordis toujours). La prochaine fois, je penserai à
toi.

It's time for me to say goodbye to everyone as I'll stop my activity
next Friday.
The Amaya project will continue under the leadership of Vincent Quint.
Of course the task force will be temporarily reduced and the Amaya team
will be less reactive until new engineers join.

It was a great pleasure for me to work for such an interesting project
and to collaborate with the Amaya Team, the W3C Team, and all

Still not implemented. To go around you can open the source view by
double click on the bottom split bar and copy or paste in the
synchronized source code. I agree it's less comfortable.

The wxWidgets toolkit used by Amaya manages the drag and drop works at
the file level.

Sorry but it's even worse than I expected.
Copying from one tab to another in wysiwyg will remove all formatting.
This is limiting; your content formatting cannot be hostage of one single tab.

Is this something you think has an easy solution? Any workaround (other than copying from the source window)?

I tagged some text as <h7> trying to make them appear in the TOC that Amaya 11.3 (Dec 2, 2009) builds.

I flopped miserabily.

I know the <h7> tag does not exist, but is there a way to tell Amaya to include my <h7>s (or any other) tags in the TOC it build? A configuration tweak?

Great. :-) Whenever a bug is first reported in a mailing list and
later "moved" to a bug tracker (or the way around), it's generally
useful to provide a link which helps navigating from one to the other
(usually the "URL" field, in the bug report). In this case, it's bug
8434 [1]. ;-)

I guess the Amaya team should be the one choosing either the mailing
list or bug tracker as preference. Personally, I prefer the bug
tracker, with it's more precise life cycle [2], metadata and more
precise search abilities but, as it's hard for most users to
distinguish a bug report from a support request, the mailing list is
many times a good way of providing a first triaging of the problem
and, after it's agreed that it's not a misconfiguration or
misunderstanding, a bug is then isolated. But I'd say a bug tracker is
great for whoever is able to report bugs properly [3]... :-)

Yeah, I'd say a bug tracker is more fit to a developer's process.
Again, I guess the Amaya team should state which is their

I am now going to submit as a bug because there is a situation where

:transparent is required..... Given a site design with a general stylesheet

tha specifies background colors for both div and legend elements.

But for a special case you want a particular form that has the

legend color matching the div color. You could hardcode it but

what happens when general spreadsheet div color is modified...

you should not have to 'touch up' the specific example!

:transparent is the appropriate solution in this case and all the

major browsers would accommodate this.

Mind you I think it is just a layering bug as nested boxes should

appear over the top of the nester and the fieldset border covered

by the legend box ... this is the interpretation that browsers are using.

In your example, the style element contains a rule

legend {background:transparent;}

That's why you can see the border from the fieldset element through the

legend box.

To avoid that, remove the background rule, or change "transparent" to

"white".

I am not sure who is wrong here. Neither the HTML 4.01 spec nor the CSS

2.1 spec

clearly state whether the border of a fieldset element should be visible

or not

through a transparent legend box.

Thank you for the reply. I suspect i originally put the rule in there

to quiet a css-style-helper which indicated background conflict or something

And it can be removed to fix the display.

HOWEVER, I am of the belief that when there is a vagueness or lack

of definition in rendering legitimate code, that browsers should move to

an 'ad hoc' standard. This is clearly the class for this demo as

opera, safarii, firefox and msie all draw the legend element OVER

the fiieldset as it is nested inside it (box inside a box). I think

that html5 is also moving in that direction --- concensus view on rendering.

I will hold off on putting this one in bugzilla until more views are shared

as it can be fixed by dropping rule. But original issue still remains!
