wear simulationHi everybody,
I want to predict susceptible regions to wear in metal forming processes. thus, Abaqus/Expelicit is used and both tool and workpiece are deformable. Now, how can I define a new field output, wear contour, by multiplying contact pressure and slipe velocity of surface nodes? is it necessary to use subroutine for monitoring wear? Many thanks in advance for you attention. Regards, Validi [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

Re: wear simulationyes, you have two options:
i) Use ABAQUS subroutine called UMESHMOTION. The difficult part is ensure the subroutine is working. Once it is OK, Your life become easy. ii) Write your wear code externally. First run contact analysis and then get CPRESS to calculate wear displacement. You need to adjust the node coordinates. It is tedious compared to the first option but it is easy to create a wear code. ABD. Re: wear simulationHello,
If you use abaqus standard, only then you can use UMESHMOTION ( subroutine) as it is not supported in explicit. You might have to write an external code in C/C++ Best way to get started is to read the "tire wear" examples in the documentation.
